Paradores lodging in Puerto Rico

Paradores

Paradores is a signature program of the PRTC composed of lodging facilities that represent the history, culture, idiosyncrasy and hospitality of Puerto Rico outside the San Juan metropolitan area. Lodgings under this program have a minimum of seven (7) and a maximum of seventy-five (75) rooms.

Posadas lodging in Puerto Rico

Posadas

A PRTC brand and program that seeks to promote the development of a network of small and medium urban, thematic, sustainable and high-quality innkeepers. Posadas are located in the traditional urban centers of the towns and have a minimum of seven (7) and a maximum of fifty (50) rooms. The goal of a Posada is to provide tourists with an experience of the culture, history and architecture of the urban environment where it is located, while creating synergy to economically revitalize the old urban centers.

Special lodging categories

Resort

A hotel or resort that as part of its offering includes restaurant(s), open spaces and gardens, commercial areas, areas for group or convention activities, a variety of sports and recreational activities such as water and equestrian sports and golf, children's activities, pools and other amenities and services to meet the needs of its guests within said complex.

Time Sharing

Defined as the right, real or personal, to use and occupy one or more accommodations on a periodic basis for a determined period and other conditions.

Residential/Tourist Project

A mixed-use development project that combines residential uses with lodging activities such as: 1) Condo-Hotel, 2) Bed & Breakfast, 3) A residential project or rental management in Puerto Rico within a master plan of a larger tourism development that includes at least one hotel or tourist villas. Hospitality and tourism activities must constitute the main component of the development and these elements will be the only ones considered for tourism incentives and/or promotion. The Residential-Tourist Concept is a type of development and not a type of hospitality.

Sustainable Tourism Categories

Any form of accommodation that meets and operates under the requirements of the Design and Operation Guidelines for Ecotourism and Sustainable Tourism Facilities and the Green Lodging certification issued by the Sustainable Tourism Division of PRTC. Standard Hospitality Categories

Bed & Breakfast (B&B)

A residential-tourist inn known for its family atmosphere. It will have between three (3) and six (6) rooms.
